Resolve connects to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central through the Resolve Pay Connector extension from Microsoft AppSource. Once connected, your Business Central customers and posted sales invoices flow into Resolve automatically, so you can offer net terms and get paid upfront without re-keying anything.
Why should I connect Business Central to Resolve?
Connecting eliminates manual entry of customers and invoices and gives Resolve the information it needs to approve your customers for credit, finance your invoices, and handle collections. With Auto Bookkeeping turned on, Resolve also records each payout back in Business Central so your books stay reconciled.
What do I need before I start?
- A Business Central online environment (Essentials or Premium). On-premises installations are not supported.
- A Business Central administrator to run the one-time setup. The administrator needs the SUPER permission set, or SECURITY plus the extension's RSV Setup Admin, RSV Connector and RSV Company Data permission sets assigned directly to their account. The RSV permission sets are created by the Resolve Pay Connector extension, so they only appear in Business Central after the extension is installed (step 4 below). If you are not using SUPER, install the extension first, assign the three sets, then continue with the setup wizard.
- A Microsoft work account that can sign in to that Business Central environment, to approve Resolve's access.
- A Resolve merchant account with the Business Central integration enabled. Contact your Resolve account manager if you don't see Business Central under Settings → Integrations.
How do I connect Business Central to Resolve?
In Resolve, go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect on the Dynamics 365 Business Central tile.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account when prompted. You are redirected back to Resolve.
- Choose the Business Central environment to connect (for example Production), then the company whose customers and invoices should sync. One Resolve account connects to one company.
- If the Resolve Pay Connector extension is not installed in that environment yet, click Install extension. Business Central opens on the Extension Management page: search for Resolve Pay Connector, open its menu and choose Install.
- Back in Resolve, click Check again, then Open setup wizard. The wizard opens in Business Central in the company you chose.
- In the Set up Resolve wizard, confirm the company, allow Business Central to create the Resolve Pay Connector application user, and choose whether to sync all existing customers and whether new customers should sync by default. Click Finish.
- Back in Resolve, click Check again. The connection completes and the first sync starts.
The tile now shows the connected company and the sync status. Customers and invoices appear in Resolve within a few minutes.
What data is synced?
Resolve reads the following from the connected company:
- Customers that are marked Sync to Resolve Pay (name, address, email and phone of the billing contact).
- Posted sales invoices for those customers: invoice number, dates, amounts, remaining balance, line items and the invoice PDF. Your External Document No. becomes the PO number in Resolve.
- Payments and credit memos applied to those invoices, so the balance in Resolve stays current. A cancelled invoice is archived in Resolve.
Unposted invoices (status Draft or In Review) are never synced. Resolve only reads this data; it does not change customers or invoices in Business Central.
How do I choose which customers sync?
Each customer card in Business Central has a Sync to Resolve Pay toggle added by the extension. Turn it on to include the customer, off to exclude them. New customers follow the default you chose in the setup wizard; you can change that default any time in Business Central under Resolve Setup, and use Enable for all existing customers there to select everyone at once.
Turning the toggle off for a customer who is already in Resolve keeps their existing records but stops new invoices from syncing. Turning it back on resumes new invoices from syncing.
How often does the sync run?
Business Central notifies Resolve whenever a synced customer or invoice changes, so updates reach Resolve within minutes without any scheduling on your side. A full sync also runs every night as a backup, and you can start one manually from the Business Central tile with Initiate Sync from the Resolve Settings page. There is nothing to configure in Business Central for this; the extension sets up the notifications when you connect.
Can I edit synced records in Resolve?
You can, but Business Central is the source of truth: your edits may be overwritten by the next sync. Make changes in Business Central instead. Invoices that have been financed by Resolve are protected and are not changed by later syncs.
Why is a customer or invoice missing in Resolve?
- The customer's Sync to Resolve Pay toggle is off.
- The invoice is not posted yet.
- The invoice belongs to a different company than the one you connected.
- The last sync failed. Check the sync status on the Business Central tile under Settings → Integrations.
How do I disconnect?
In Resolve, go to Settings → Integrations and click Disconnect on the Business Central tile. Resolve stops syncing and removes the connection. Data already synced stays in Resolve.
Disconnecting does not remove Resolve's access inside Business Central. To revoke it completely, a Business Central administrator can disable or delete the Resolve Pay Connector entry on the Microsoft Entra Applications page, uninstall the extension from Extension Management, and revoke the Resolve app's consent in Microsoft Entra.
