What is an ACH company ID?
An ACH Company ID (Automated Clearing House Company Identification) is a unique identifier used by banks. It allows banks to verify the origin of transactions, ensuring they come from authorized sources. The ID appears in transaction details, helping recipients identify the originator. This system enhances security and traceability in ACH payments.
How are ACH company IDs used?
ACH Company IDs are used primarily to identify and verify the source of ACH transactions. When an organization initiates an ACH transaction, its unique Company ID is included in the transaction details, allowing the receiving bank to recognize the sender as an authorized entity. This ID also appears on the recipient’s bank statement, making it easier for the recipient to identify where the payment was initiated from. Financial institutions use these IDs to enhance transaction security by verifying the company’s identity and legitimacy, reducing the risk of fraud.
Please note: In the event where a debit is attempted without the ACH company ID it may result in an unexpected dispute and the bank account may also become blocked for use with Resolve. If this happens, please reach out to help@resolvepay.com for assistance.
